"It was pretty much agreed that keyboarding and handwriting are both essential skills. Keyboarding is a lifelong skill that needs to be taught in the 3rd grade to get students “off on the right track.” Handwriting is a skill that every person needs to have to allow them to complete the everyday activities."

1. Read your quote and determine what question about the great keyboarding debate it addresses

2. Restate the quote in your own words.

3. Determine its implications for your students, you, your colleagues, and your district.
When should we actually teach the keyboarding skills. We teach keyboarding in 4th grade formally.

4. What questions and/or concerns does this raise for you? What support and/or resources to you need to further your understanding or learning about this topic?
It doesn't raise any concerns since we agree with this. We understand the need for strong keyboarding kills. There is also a place in daily life where you need to be able to write things down by hand.
